Many people know their western zodiac, which has to do with the month you're born, but did you know the Chinese Zodiac is based on the YEAR you were born? The Chinese Zodiac is comprised of 12 different animals. Each year represents a different animal, and this zodiac follows the lunar calendar (so if you're born in January or February, be sure to double check when your zodiac's year begins and ends!). Currently, we're in the Year of the Water Rabbit! The one-of-a-kind pieces I made to celebrate the Lunar New Year sold out in a blink so I did a second drop and those jade pieces sold out immediately too...all featuring jade Rabbits!  So after many requests, I have decided to do a COMPLETE Chinese Zodiac Collection, releasing this month (March). I will be releasing three Zodiac animals at a time, so thought this info would be fun:

The Zodiac's Characteristics

Rat: The rat is highly intelligent, charming, and is very family oriented. Fast and nimble, the rat is clever and a great problem solver!

Ox: The ox is known to be exceptionally patient and kind, but also stubborn and conservative. Grounded, focused and determined...the ox is the most reliable animal in the Zodiac.

Tiger: The tiger loves to "roar" to show their intensity, courageousness and authority, but they are actually very emotional individuals.

Rabbit: The rabbit is a natural socialite; they are known to be popular, but also compassionate, and sincere. Quick, witty and charming, the rabbit is always a lucky animal.

Dragon: The dragon is bold and fearless, but can be warm-hearted, and charismatic around those who they feel most comfortable! The Dragon is one of the most beloved Zodiac sign because it is always associated with luck and beauty.

Snake: The snake is known to be elusive and naturally introverted, but very charming and generous once they "warm up" to other individuals. Smart and flexible, the snake can adapt to situations and is a survivor!

Horse: The horse has lots of energy, loves to travel and enjoys their independence. Strong, regal and beautiful, the horse is a symbol of strength.

Sheep: The sheep can be very shy, and prefers peace over chaos. Reliable and lovable, the sheep is a favorite friend because of their demeanor.

Monkey: The monkey is inquisitive and mischievous, but certainly a lot of fun. Flexible, fast and high-flying, the monkey rises to every challenge and is a fast-learner.

Rooster: The rooster is hard-working, practical and values their independence. Beautiful and regal, the rooster is also reliable and a leader.

Dog: The dog is diligent, faithful and kind to those around them but aren't afraid to "bite" or "bark" when it comes to protecting their loved ones. Strong and resilient, the dog is everyone's friend!

Pig: The pig is very loving and tolerant, but often may enjoy the finer things in life and must be careful not to squander their earnings. Everyone loves the pig because of its easy personality and positive outlook on life.
